The assumption that you will know what to do or that someone will help you if you are unfortunate enough to be attacked is flawed and dangerous in its naivety.
Your attacker will be:
- Physically stronger
- Mentally and physically prepared
- Have the element of surprise/intimidation
- Carrying a weapon
- Have accomplices
Do not succumb to THE MYTH that a typical 'self-defence' course will prepare you for the above by showing you martial-arts techniques a few times. Our course is designed around our unique PIES strategy that will enable you to better negotiate the real dangers we face everyday. We tap into and enhance your existing skills and make YOU a more effective defender.
In the 2011-2012 period Victoria Police recorded more than 8300 cases of rape and sexual assault. According to data from the Australian Centre for the Study of Sexual Assault (ACSSA) only one in six women attacked report it to authorities. This would suggest that there are around 50,000 victims of rape and sexual assault in Victoria annually, around 1000 per week.
